They are small erosions in the lining of the oral cavity or the tongue. They tend to be recurrent. They usually tend to disappear in about 7-10 days but cause a lot of discomfort.The main causes include trauma, allergy to toothpaste ,vitamin b complex and folic acid deficiency,familial, poor oral hygiene.
These can produce severe pain especially while eating and drinking, and bad odor from mouth. sometimes excessive salivation is seen and occasionally fever .These may also be seen in women during the menstrual cycle.

Reducing mental stress, and good oral hygiene can reduce these problems but a homeopathic medicine can do wonders in these cases.
I have found good results when the patient was asked take milk or dairy products as part of their diet.
