Clinical trial of Homoeopathic medicine in covid therapy in final stages

Data collection has been completed for a clinical trial for homeopathic preventive medication for Covid-19 after its final lap at the Government Homeopathy College in Bhopal. About 200 people were part of the trials, ratified by Clinical Trial Registry of India (CTRI) and ICMR.The analysis phase of the clinical trial is underway.The trial began with following up on 58,400 Bhopal residents who were administrated homeopathic ‘preventive medication’ during the Covid lockdown. 

Encouraged by the results, the Ayush institute — a designated Covid-19 care centre — began a one-of-a-kind clinical trial to determine the comparative effects of pre-identified homoeopathic medicines in asymptomatic Covid-19 patients receiving standard treatment protocol. 

200 of the 58,400 were selected for the clinical trial. Homeopathy medication is ‘targeted’ treatment of specific conditions arising from the Covid infection. Pre-identified homeopathic medication under the study included Arsenicum album-30 (four pills twice a day for seven days), Bryonia-30 (four pills twice a day for seven days), Camphora 1M (four pills twice daily for four days), along with standard treatment protocol.

Homeopathy medication Arsenicum album has also been advised for prevention of influenza-like illnesses. The ‘open label randomized placebo controlled trial’ will be able to estimate the comparative effect of per-identified homeopathic medicines in asymptomatic Covid-19 patients receiving standard treatment protocol.

Earlier in the month of May 2000 a government homeopathy medical college in Bhopal claimed to have treated as many as six Covid-19 patients successfully, prompting public health experts to raise objections against such a treatment. They also demanded an immediate ban the trial.

Six corona virus infected patients who were admitted on May 14 had returned home having recovered from the disease. These included two children also whose parents were positive. These children too were given homeopathy medicines. No Allopathy medicine was given to children. They were only given homeopathy medicines

After knowing detailed history of all these patients homeopathy medicines were selected and the dose was decided. The result was surprising. After taking homeopathy medicines they had rapid improvement in the condition of the patients and none of the patients needed oxygen support.

 

These doctors were following all the protocol and guidelines of WHO in treating the patients. The medicines was not revealed The state government had earmarked the hospital as Covid care centre in the month of MAY. The hospital treated the the patients in a scientific manner and with successful results
